What Is HydroScrub® Drain Jetting?
HydroScrub® is a drain snake alternative that gets your pipes clear and clean. Rather than simply cutting away debris, HydroScrub Jetting completely clears out your pipes using high-pressure water jets.
Contrary to what you might think, most blockages don’t suddenly appear out of nowhere. They’re caused by years of hair, grease, sludge, soap residue, and mineral deposits accumulating in your pipes. Unfortunately for DIY plumbers, a drain snake can’t handle this buildup.
HydroScrub® clears away years of sludge and grime, completely restoring your plumbing system’s performance.
How Does HydroScrub® Work?
HydroScrub® Jetting uses highly pressurized water to break down the buildup in your pipes and forcefully eject it from your plumbing system. This specialized equipment uses a hose with an industrial-strength nozzle designed to withstand high pressures.
During the drain jetting service, we insert this hose into the cleanout, an opening at the downstream end of your plumbing system. The nozzle then sprays multiple high-pressure jets of water. A few of these jets are angled diagonally away from the end of the nozzle. These diagonal jets of water push the nozzle downward while cleaning the pipe’s walls.
The whole time the HydroScrub is in your plumbing system, it shoots 18 gallons per minute at 3500 psi—that’s 1.75 tons of pressure per inch. This pressure blasts away caked-on grime, making it difficult for clogs to form in the future.
HydroScrub® has an adjustable nozzle, which comes in handy for commercial jobs. It can fit in any pipe, no matter how large or small. Every plumbing system can benefit from the thorough, industrial-level cleaning that HydroScrub® technology provides.
Why HydroScrub® Surpasses Conventional Cable Methods
Conventional pipe cleaning clears a narrow passage within a clog to restore function to the plumbing system. Though this gets the pipe working again, it won’t be long before more grime closes that hole.
What makes HydroScrub® a better option is that it does not just improve pipe function—it fully restores its performance. In addition to that, it prevents future plumbing problems.
Conventional cable pipe snaking methods often leave behind soft deposits. These soft deposits partially block the pipe, making it easy for objects to get caught. This eventually leads to more clogs. The HydroScrub® Jet leaves no soft deposits behind— just a clean pipe.

Preventative Maintenance
Preventative maintenance is one of the best ways to keep your plumbing in good condition. Not only is it proactive, but it saves you money and time in the long run. Extending the life of your system is much better than having to replace pieces of it every few years! That’s another reason we offer HydroScrub® Jetting.
We can resolve your current plumbing issues, prevent future problems, and save you money on expensive repairs by extending the life of your pipes. Call us today to learn more!
In addition to clearing out your pipes, our plumbing experts incorporate other preventative measures to ensure that buildup does not return. Because a little buildup is inevitable, scheduling routine HydroScrub® cleaning ensures that the buildup doesn’t become too severe.
To slow the buildup process, do the following:
- Dispose of fat, grease, and cooking oil in the trash, not the drain
- Use Mr. Rooter® Plumbing Enzymatic Drain Care™ once a month
- Flush only toilet paper down your toilet (no other paper products)
- Use drain strainers in your sink drains, and clean them often
Commercial Drain Jetting FAQs
Is hydrojetting safe for my plumbing system?
Hydrojetting is safe for most plumbing systems. Though it does involve high pressures, plumbers are careful to adjust the pressure to match the recommended pressure limits of your pipe material.
The only time drain jetting could damage your pipes is if they are extremely old and corroded.
If you’re concerned about the quality of your plumbing system, call a plumber. The team at Mr. Rooter Plumbing will perform a thorough inspection before your HydroScrub® service and inform you of any damaged pipe sections.
